Entries open for the 2025 Maritime Media Awards

The search is on for the UK’s best journalists, authors, filmmakers, digital creators and others who in the past year have excelled in creating greater public understanding of the maritime environment.

The Maritime Media Awards shine a light on the innovators and those who make a difference in generating awareness of current and future maritime issues, and the role maritime plays in the prosperity, security and sustainability of our nation.

Last year’s winners included the Guardian’s Karen McVeigh for the Seascape series covering the state of the oceans, Big Wave Productions producer Sarah Cunliffe for BBC One’s Our Lives: Our Sea Forest, and River Action UK for their hard-hitting campaign on the pollution crisis facing our rivers.

The qualifying period for the Maritime Media Awards 2025 is from 01 January 2024 to 30 June 2025, and the closing date for entries is 15 July 2025.
