Blue Ocean Marine Tech Systems‘ UK Managing Director James King has been named as the 2025 Maritime Media Awards keynote speaker.
With a background as a Royal Navy engineer and a career spanning defence, nuclear and cutting-edge maritime innovation, James has been at the forefront of advancing autonomous underwater systems for global offshore and defence operations, and will give the keynote address at the annual Maritime Media Awards, which returns to Six Park Place in London on Thursday, 20 November.
A passionate advocate for the responsible use of marine technology, he leads Blue Ocean Marine’s UK mission to transform the way ocean data is gathered — making it safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. His career reflects a commitment to innovation, collaboration, and the technology enabling the future of maritime operations.
At the Awards Ceremony, the winners of the 6 awards will be celebrated for UK maritime journalism, literature, television and film, and immersive and social media. The Royal Navy will be in attendance to reveal the winner of the Desmond Wettern Fleet Award.
