On 26 February 2014, the Institute of Directors and the Maritime Foundation jointly organised a Battle of the Atlantic Commemoration dinner for 150 guests including the Minister of State for the Armed Forces, Mark Francois MP and senior members of the Naval Staff.

A special presentation was given by Rear Admiral John Lang which was exceptionally well illustrated and supported with naval archive film.

The speakers were Captain Eric “Winkle” Brown CBE DSC AFC RN and Tony Ditcham DSC who recalled some of their naval experiences with great humour and wit.

Chairman of the Maritime Foundation, Mr Julian Parker proposed a vote of thanks on behalf of the guests.
